A very quick one this month. I feel like there was a lot of rereading of Agatha Christie novels and a lot of rewatching of the TV series Poirot. I am staunchly Poirot and will not read Miss Marple just as a heads up. Amongst this, here are a few things I’ve been consuming this month.
I know it’s annoying when people recount their dreams, but I’m currently obsessed with Anthony Bourdain, and I had a dream that we were dating! And he wrote me a lovely note, some of which was in Spanish. Beautiful. So yes, I’ve been enjoying a lot of old episodes of No Reservations and Parts Unknown even though sometimes the filming gives me motion sickness. Quite a lot is available on SBS and Prime.
I am a detective novel fiend. If they’ve been written in a language other than English first? Even better. The Tokyo Zodiac Murders by Soji Shimada is excellent. And look at Shimada himself! So cool. The book has pages where the author talks to the reader. Apparently I had all the clues to work it out, but, unsurprisingly, I couldn’t.
Grace, is really worth watching if you love British Cop Shows. On Britbox in Australia.
My boyfriend and I are really into 4 Corners. The two part series about the American Presidential Race was particularly good. On ABC iView.
You’ve just sold me on my my next read. I love Japanese novels!
