I have spoken many times about how much I love stationery and how it’s a dream of mine to have a stationery brand. I’d love to lean into that more on The Middle Part. Generally, stationery is pretty low tech and I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of making a list, of writing by hand on a blank page and finding beautiful yet useful things in stationery stores. Whenever I travel, if there is a stationery store, I would like to be in it. It’s my favourite kind of souvenir. Lately Harriet Hadfield of Harry Makes It Up has been talking more about stationery and it’s reminded me how much I love this content.
So today, I thought we could go with a core stationery tool. The pen!
Up until recently I was very much a Pilot BP-145 Fine Retractable Ballpoint person. In fact, for years, I would default to this as my favourite pen. It had to be blue, and I didn’t mind the 0.7 nib. The rollerball aesthetic appealed to me more than ink, but as we know, people change and now I am a Zebra Sarasa MarkON stan. The 0.4 nib is great and this does not smudge at all, which is wonderful if you like to scribble. The clip component is on a hinge so you can actually clip is on to stuff. Also, clicky pens forever - I don’t want to lose the lid. I have the blue and the red (for marking) but am currently very into the black in my diary/planner.
Okay, what’s your favourite pen or all you all digital?
Why don't you design your own line?
